Over the years, Don's astute attention to detail and authenticity in his creations has attracted a notable
clientele which includes such celebrities, entrepreneurs, and personal acquaintances as: Tim Allen from
television's "Home Improvement;" Zora Arkus Duntov, Chief Engineer of the Corvette; Mike Yager, Owner of
Mid-America Designs; Linda Vaughn - Miss Hurst Golden Shifter; Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins; Dick Guldstrand;
Chip & Bill Miller of Carlisle Productions (Corvettes @ Carlisle); John Force; Cruz & Tony Pedregon;
the JEGS & Panella Drag Racing teams, and more.
Don's models are among the few to receive such a level of recognition that several of his pieces have
been admitted to, and are on display, at The National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and
the NHRA Motorsports Museum in Pomona, California. Scale Visions creations have also been featured in
numerous national automotive publications including Hot Rod Magazine;Popular Hot Rodding; Vette; Corvette Fever;
Shark Quarterly; Corvette Quarterly; Drag Racer; Rod & Custom; Vintage Motorsport; and on the cover of Roundel Magazine.
When asked, "How do you do it?" Don's reply is, "I start with a base kit and a few donor kits from which I use
various components, I call it kit-bashing. Then I proceed to recreate each and every part of the car, such as
the engine, as if that is the only piece that you'll be looking at. I do this with every part, interior, wheels,
body, etc.
These models are built to the highest level of craftsmanship. The simplest models take at least 30 hours
to build and more complex projects can take upwards of 100 hours to complete. Of course, craftsmanship has its price. A simple
curbside model may start at $500, while a fully detailed exact duplicate of your personal ride may cost well over $1500 or more.
There is no set price as each model is custom built to your specifications. We will be glad to quote a
price for the construction of your dream car. Click here to contact us.
